The presentation will include an overview of the Navy's submarines from Ohio ballistic missile class submarines to the Virginia fast attack submarine class. The presentation will cover submarine specifications and systems\, as well as notable submarine incidents and disasters. \nReception at 5:30 pm\, followed by 6:00 pm lecture. Over his 25+ year Naval career\, he served on the USS Lewis & Clark (SSBN 644)\, USS John Adams (SSBN 620)\, USS George Washington (SSBN 598)\, USS Corporal (SS 346)\, USS Grouper (AGSS 2l4)\, USS Florikan (ASR 9)\, and USS Point Loma (AGDS 2). CDR Tyler has received several awards including the Navy Command at Sea Badge\, Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star\, Navy Achievement Medal\, and the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals. CDR Tyler is a USN Mk 12 Dive System diver. In retirement\, he has been active in the Rotary Club of Coronado\, the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission\, the Coronado Island Film Festival\, and the Coronado Community Foundation.
